Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to make an appointment to shop for bridal gowns?
In order to provide you with our best possible service, we
encourage you to make an appointment. These appointments let us know how many
bridal consultants will be needed at any given time. Walk-in brides are always
welcome, but during busy days the brides with appointments will be assisted first.
How long is my appointment?
For the first visit to our store you will have an hour and a
half appointment time. This is usually more than enough time for brides to try
on as many dresses as they wish and purchase if they find that perfect gown! If
you would like to shop for bridesmaid’s or mother’s gowns after looking for
bridal gowns, just let us know at the time you make your appointment.
How far in advance should I order my wedding gown?
This is dependent on several factors. Most designers take
about five to six months to ship a bridal gown, and the seamstress requires
about eight weeks to alter the gown. We recommend ordering your bridal gown
about one year in advance to allow ample time for shipment and alterations.
However, we are able to rush most bridal gowns for an additional fee and we
often sell gowns out of inventory at a reduced price.
Do you sell the sample gowns?
Yes! We have several hundred bridal gowns in stock. This is
a great option for brides that do not have time to order or for brides that
would like to take their dress home that day!
How long does it take to order bridesmaids dresses?
We recommend ordering your bridesmaids dresses about five
months in advance. These dresses take approximately 12-14 weeks to arrive in
store once every bridesmaid has paid for their gown. The seamstress requires about three weeks to alter
What if my bridesmaids live out of town?
This is no problem! Bridesmaids who are not able to come
into the store to order may fill out the gown order form on our website. We
strongly suggest bridesmaids get professional measurements of their bust,
waist, and hips. Formal gowns will usually run smaller than your average dress
size, and these dresses are not guaranteed a seam allowance. It is always
easier to take a dress in than to let a dress out! In the end, it is the
bridesmaid’s choice as to what size we will order. Once the bridesmaids dresses
have arrived in store and passed quality control, we will be happy to ship them within
the continental US for $24.
How long does it take to alter a gown?
Although our seamstress can work under almost any deadline,
most bridal gowns need at least six weeks to alter. Informal wedding gowns, bridesmaid’s
dresses, and mother’s dresses can be altered in a shorter time span.
What is a trunk show?
We have two to three trunk shows per year. This is an
exciting three day event where you can view exclusive gowns from a particular designer
that are not usually featured in our store. These include best-selling and current season
wedding gowns that may only be available in the Atlanta area for the weekend
advertised. Trunk shows are a great time to get a discounted gown! Appointments
are required for these weekends.
